Hope i've been clear, and sorry for my bad english! Unfortunately this won't work. The Play and Charge kit only connects up to the actual battery. The controller still connects over wireless. You'd need either a wired Xbox 360 controller, or a Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver which will connect to your existing wireless controller. .
Xbox 360 controllers do not support Bluetooth, they use a proprietary RF interface which requires a special USB dongle. There are specific, newer Xbox ONE wireless controllers that do support Bluetooth to PC, but you need to make sure to get the one with Bluetooth support as all Xbox One controllers do not support it. My issue is with the wired Xbox 360 controller on Windows 10 version 21h1. The device manager says "Unknown USB Device (Device descriptor request failed)". I used to use this controller on an old laptop where it would work without any issue. I tried plugging the controller into every USB port which didn't work and the same problem occurred.
In BigBox, I went into ‘Options”, turned the controller on and selected Xbox 360 controller. Now in BigBox the D-Pad and the Left analog work fine for scrolling through the menu. If I select a game from the menu and press the ‘A’ button on the controller it initiates another menu of which one of the options is ‘Play’.

If it's a wonky/broken USB connection you will hear the USB plugin/plug-out sound from windows. If the wireless connection to the receiver is lost you will see the controller connection light flashing. Could also be a USB contention issue where the bus sharing with another device is causing issues. So try a different usb port on a different hub.
